About the Password Generator

This free password generator creates cryptographically secure random passwords using your browser's crypto.getRandomValues() API — the same source of randomness used in professional security software. Generated passwords are never transmitted to any server.

How strong is my password?

Entropy is measured in bits. Higher entropy = harder to crack. A 128-bit password would take longer than the age of the universe to brute-force on current hardware.
Under 36 bits — weak. Vulnerable to offline brute-force attacks.
60–90 bits — strong. Sufficient for most accounts.
Over 90 bits — very strong. Recommended for high-value accounts and encryption keys.

Best practices

Use a unique password for every account — never reuse passwords.
Store passwords in a reputable password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, etc.).
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever possible.
Use at least 16 characters for important accounts.
