About the URL Encoder & Decoder

URL encoding (percent-encoding) converts characters that are not allowed or have special meaning in URLs into a %XX format where XX is the hexadecimal value of the character's UTF-8 byte. This ensures URLs are transmitted correctly over the internet.

Encoding modes

Component — encodes everything except A–Z a–z 0–9 - _ . ! ~ * ' ( ). Use for individual query parameter names and values or path segments.
Full URL — preserves URL structure characters (: / ? # [ ] @). Use when encoding a complete URL that already has correct structure.
Form data — like component but encodes spaces as +. Matches the application/x-www-form-urlencoded format used by HTML forms.
